Inked Horror
Society has come a long way since accepting body art (Tattoos) as somehwat of the norm. 'It is arguably claimed that tattooing has existed since 12,000 years BC. The purpose of tattooing has varies from culture to culture and its place on the time line'
Tattooing represents so many multi faceted factors that even the horror world and fans alike has long since sought its art.
Our top horror movie that is absolutely obsessed with ink goes to 'Tattoo' as reccommended by Revolver
Robert Schwentke’s serial-killer movie is inspired by David Fincher’s “Se7en” and a Roald Dahl short story (“Skin”). Two cops are on the trail of a murderer killing victims for their unique tattoos that are then sold to weirdo collectors. A ghoulish spin on the world of art dealing and art appreciation, “Tattoo” is well worth seeking out.
Next is 'Whats left of us'
This Argentinian zombie apocalypse drama is one of the most unusual horror films in recent times. Axel, Ana and Jonathan are living in a boarded up apartment. Axel is in unrequited love with Ana. Her rejection leads him to begin a tattoo project—thus making himself physically repulsive to her—in which his body is covered with crudely inked black spots. He ends up looking like a human leopard.
Our top rock star with some insane ink goes to Marilyn Manson, (who we sat down with in our magazine, pick up your copy today)
Marilyn has many dark tattoos that honestly have aesthetically aided in creating that 'Rock god' aura.
1.Manson is said to have pre-drawn art interpreting the Western German mythic creature formally called "Cyaegha the Great Old One". Both tattoos are typically comprised of a circular green eye at the center of a mass of black tentacles, each one slightly varied from the other. Reportedly, the right arm was tattooed first, and both were done in the same session. The tattoos appear across the inside of both lower arms.
2. Another creepy tattoo the star recieved, was the narrator character and "host" of the Warren Comics horror magazine, Creepy.
3,On Manson's 21st birthday, alongside creepy Crawly Spider tattooed on his wrist.Baphomet became known in the nineteenth century when it was applied to pseudo-historical conspiracy theories elaborating on the suppression of the Templars, and it became associated with a "Sabbatic Goat". The tattoo appears on his upper left arm, under The Lucky Devil.
